Vacation Rental Manager
Hunger & Ransom is looking to level up with a new property manager. We operate multiple vacation rental properties in Northeast Michigan and pride ourselves on delivering an incredible guest experience.
Our primary rental season runs May through October, when you’ll be busiest performing a wide range of on-site tasks. During our off-season, your workload will be lighter with generous vacation time. Intrigued? Get to know us and the position a bit more.
About Hunger & Ransom
We started in 2014 with a single cabin and desire to elevate the vacation rental experience. A decade later, we have twenty-seven cottages and plan to continue expansion with your help.
3 of our rentals are individual homes, the other 24 are divided between 2 larger properties that we call Cottage Cove and Havenwood Shores, both located on Lake Huron. Throughout the season, we’re home base for nearly 1,000 groups. Some families have been staying at our locations more than four decades; we’re proud to be a place that so many love and revisit annually!
We’ve reached a stage where managing guests, cleaning and the upkeep of our portfolio prohibits us from adding new properties. This is where you, our new Vacation Rental Manager, steps in.
About the Position
The Vacation Rental Manager role is unique among most jobs. You’ll be performing a variety of tasks: including, guest relations, team management, research and content creation. You’ll also be asked to step in with turnover cleaning and light maintenance, as needed.
During rental season, expect plenty of activity and movement. On changeover days, you’ll be responsible for ensuring each rental is properly setup for a great guest experience; you’ll need to touch-up the spots cleaners missed, ensure the grounds are tidy, and catch maintenance issues before guests do.
Aside from pre-arrival duties, you’ll be handling guest relations (calls, emails, proactive check-ins), content-creation, cleaning crew management, and research tasks. Every day will bring something slightly different but you’ll always have a fantastic view of Lake Huron!
During the off-season (November - April), you’ll experience a lighter workload. You’ll still be handling guest inquires, but most days will have low customer support volume, reduced on-site tasks, and primarily take place on the computer. You’ll also have the flexibility to vacation and take time for yourself.
