Getaway to Michigan and enjoy this fun and tastefully-updated vacation home! It's the perfect place to compliment your travel plans. Dig your toes into sandy Lake Huron, go tubing down the AuSable River, hike the Huron National Forest, explore Oscoda, or create your own Pure Michigan experience; it's all within minutes (or steps) from the front door.
There's comfortable space for your entire family + friends with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Spread out when you want some privacy or gather in the spacious, open-concept living area. Stay connected with high speed cable internet and whole home WiFi. All three HDTVs are smart enabled with Roku giving you access to many of the subscriptions you use at home in addition to free live TV.

Located near the end of a dead-end street in-town, you're less than a few hundred feet from sandy Lake Huron. Getting Down to the Details
Bedrooms
There are 3 private bedrooms, each with comfortable memory foam mattresses. The front bedroom has a queen/twin bunk sleeping arrangement and cubbies for nighttime phone/tablet charging. The downstairs master has a raised queen bed, HDTV and armchair. There’s a king bed and HDTV in the upstairs bedroom.
Bathrooms
The main bathroom is off of the living room and features a tub-shower. The second bathroom is off of the downstairs master bedroom and has a large 6’x3’ walk-in shower.
Living Spaces
The living room, kitchen and dining room are all open to each other and offer plenty of space for your entire group. Like the other televisions, the living room HDTV is Roku enabled/equipped. Across from the upstairs bedroom is a semi-private, secondary hangout space with a futon, table and two chairs.
Accommodation
The home is equipped and intended to sleep 6 people comfortably. While there is technically space for 8-9, we know that not every travel party consists of couples—there’s no need to bring an air mattress—the day bed and twin bunk give you space to spread out. Our max guests, including children, is still limited to 6.
Animal-Free Home
Allergic to animals? This home is always cat and dog free in order to provide guests with animal allergies a comfortable place to vacation.
Outdoor Space
Off the back of the home is a semi-private patio with a dining set for six, propane grill and firepit. Located close to the water, there’s almost always a nice breeze on the property and the large pine trees offer shade most of the day making outdoor relaxation comfortable.

What to Expect
Each of our vacation rental properties possesses distinctive traits, and we consider it essential for you to be aware of these prior to your visit. Our goal is to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for every guest, and understanding these differences from your home can contribute to that. To assist in making your booking decision more informed, we present some key points for your consideration.
Special Considerations
- Shared Beach: This cottage shares beach access with Cottage Cove (a dog-friendly property). Consequently, the beach is shared with other guests and the possibility of dogs.
- Cleanliness: We prioritize offering a clean environment for your vacation. Every linen, appliance, surface, and fixture is thoroughly cleaned between stays. However, there are some points to note:
- Our spacious, circular driveway at Cottage Cove is a great playground for kids and provides a smooth walking surface. However, it can lead to oil being tracked into the cottage from the asphalt, especially when guests walk barefoot from the beach. Despite our diligent cleaning efforts, the asphalt can sometimes leave oil marks on the cottage floors and bathtubs.
- With the beach comes sand, which we endeavor to remove completely. However, if we miss a few grains, rest assured they've been mopped, sprayed, or wiped clean.
- Please note, these points are not meant to excuse substandard cleaning. If you ever feel our cleaning is insufficient, let us know immediately, and we'll rectify the situation.
- Coastal Living Challenges: Our vacation rental homes are located on Lake Huron's shore, close to the Huron National Forest. Given our location and the age of our properties, please be aware of the following:
- Ants and other insects may find their way into the cottage, despite regular pest control efforts. You can help by maintaining food cleanliness and immediate cleanup.
- Rarely, mice may get past our precautions, especially during cooler weather. It's unlikely but worth considering when deciding to book.
- The location's humidity and higher water table might introduce unfamiliar smells. We assure you, however, that these scents don't indicate mold, and your health is our priority. Every rental is regularly inspected.
- Accessibility: Our cottages are not handicap-accessible. Most doorways are narrow, and some spaces may present obstacles for those with mobility issues. Please review all photos to assess suitability before booking.
- Provided Items: To simplify your packing, we supply essentials for your trip, but with certain limitations to stay competitive:
- Sanitary Items: Expect roughly 1 roll of paper towel, 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, and 2 trash bags.
- Linens/Bedding: We provide each guest with 1 towel and 1 washcloth, based on the cottage's occupancy limit. Each bed is fitted with a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, pillows with cases, and a light quilt. In the bathrooms, you'll find 1 floor towel and 1 hand towel. The kitchen is equipped with 1 dishcloth and 1 dish towel. Please note that we do not offer towel exchange services, nor do we provide extra linens beyond what is mentioned here.
- Kitchenware: We provide dinnerware to accommodate the maximum number of guests, plus basic cookware. e.g. at least 1 saucepan, 1 frypan and simple cooking utensils.
As frequent travelers, we value honesty and transparency about our properties to ensure you're well-prepared and can fully enjoy your vacation. If you need more information or have questions before booking, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to assist you.

Additionally, the listed amenities and visual depictions of our properties at the time of booking may change prior to your arrival, without notice. Common changes may include new decor, furniture, appliances, fixtures and landscaping. Core details that will not change include: location, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, size of beds and the inclusion of major appliances as noted within property descriptions. Should any core details detrimentally change after booking and before arrival, you will be notified and granted exception to the current cancellation policy. We stayed at Aaron's place for 3 nights in mid-July. The house is on a quiet dead-end street 3 houses away from the path that accesses the beach. The house itself is well-represented by the listing - there are two bedrooms on the main floor (master bed/master bath and the bunk-bed room) and one upstairs (king bed) with a day bed/seating area at the upstairs landing. There is a second full bathroom on the main floor as well. There is a 'mud room' past the dining area to place beach stuff to keep sand away from the rest of the house. The back patio is relatively private, with a nice grill and 6-top table. They have done a great job with use of space - while it's not a large house there is plenty of room for coexisting without falling over each other. All of the appliances are new, the house is well-kept and very well designed. We stayed with 3 kids under 5, and the house was infinitely better than any hotel room for the sanity of all parties involved. The house does not have AC, however the house did stay relatively cool with shade, ceiling fans in each room, and its proximity to Lake Huron. When we were here, it was 97F and very humid, but the house did stay significantly cooler than the ambient environment. Overall, we had a wonderful time, and this place is a gem for Oscoda travel!

Beautiful cottage type house - definitely has that "up north" feel. Everything is completely remodeled. It's on a quiet street away from the main road, but still close to everything you want to do in Oscoda. Owners are very accommodating and quick to respond. They definitely made us feel at home. Highly recommend!

We’ve been staying in rentals all over Michigan for years, always on the search for “our spot” that we could return to year after year with our children. We’ve finally found it in Oscoda! The location is ideal with its proximity to Lake Huron and the Au Sable. The beach is clean and secluded, and the local park with splash pad, playground, beach, and local ice cream shops make for a perfect afternoon with kids. The home is older but has nice modern updates - tastefully decorated, uncluttered (great for those sneaky kid hands!), and clean! The beds and furniture are comfortable, and the rain showers are a fabulous way to start or end your days. The kitchen is stocked with higher quality cook and serve ware, and the appliances are top of the line. There is no washer or dryer but there are plenty of places to hang your things to dry, as well as a nice size mud room for storage. We enjoyed grilling, dining, and campfires in the back yard and relaxing on the front porch. Aaron was responsive and reasonable, and we look forward to partnering with him again for next year’s rental!
